Tutankhamun Mask Model

This 6.5cm tall mask of Tutankhamun on a base is made from resin that is painted gold with hand painted coloured detail. The base is inscribed with the word "Tutankhamun". It is supplied in a box with a label on the front.

The mask of Tutankhamun is a death mask of the 18th-dynasty ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun who reigned between 1332–1323BC.

The original mask is a marvel of skilled craftsmanship. Weighing 10kg, it was beaten from sheet gold and inlaid with coloured glass and semi-precious stones. The stripes on the headdress are glass, but the eyeliner and eyebrows are of lapis lazuli. The eyes themselves are of obsidian (black volcanic glass) and quartz.
